“Do not hinder the little children from coming unto me. For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven”.

The Sunday school takes place during the Sunday morning service – and all children are welcome. Sheeba Roshan is the Sunday school superintendent and she is assisted by about 10 teachers who take care of singing and teaching. There are classes from beginners to seniors.

Children take part in the Diocesan Scripture examinations every year and win prizes. A separate competition is conducted for our children and prizes are distributed. Children are taken on a picnic once a year. Children Sunday is observed in the month of November.

During the Christmas season, our Sunday School children stage their annual Christmas play in the first week of December and also visit the CSI School for the Deaf and Kalyani Hospital to distribute the gifts on Gift Sunday.

Children of the STEC Sunday School have been nurtured in faith for many generations by dedicated Sunday School teachers like Stella Wilson and Premella Soundarapandian during the 1970s and 80s. Classes were held in the evenings then, and the children used to be a part of the robed choir in the morning service.
